Monkshood Cellars is the new winery in the former Minturn Cellars spot. The new owner, Nathan Littlejohn, has brought some fresh life to this cozy, chill spot.

We can't say enough good things about Minturn, the town we live in. And now, there's even more to brag about. The former Minturn Cellars – which was shut down for some time – is open again under the name Monkshood Cellars. Nathan Littlejohn is the winemaker and owner. He also hand selects the fruit for his libations, and pours them himself at his winery bar.

The winery so far sells a table red wine, a chenin blanc (white), and a killer cider. All the fruit comes form Colorado vineyards and orchards. If you want to drink like a local, ask for a cider with a floater of red wine. It's delicious and unique. You may know that I used to work professionally as a Sommelier and wine professional. Therefore, I can totally vouch on the quality of these wines.

Note that so far, the winery is only open Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, in the evenings, and Saturday for the market and into the evening. If you come during the Saturday market, they serve a great, dry sangria. There's a small wine bar that stays cool in the heat, and a great little patio with tables. Make sure to stop by the VELA Apparel booth if you come for the Saturday Market!

VELA Apparel and Monkshood Cellars Are Collaborating On a New Hat!

Another fun bit of news is that Elise is painting the artwork for the Monkshood Cellars hat. Then we will make it under the VELA brand, with the Monkshood Cellars logo on the front. Elise is just finishing up with the painting, and the hats should be ready soon. This is our first collaboration, and we are so excited to be working with a really awesome, small and local business.

Please make sure to stop by for a drink, you'll likely see us there!
